My journey into photography started on vacation, borrowing Claudio’s camera more and more—until I realized I needed one of my own. I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D60, and was instantly hooked. That passion grew quickly, and I soon upgraded to a Nikon D7100. It was during our three-month trip through Australia that my love for photography truly took off.
Photography has become more than a hobby—it’s something Claudio and I deeply share. It fuels our desire to get outdoors, explore remote landscapes, and immerse ourselves in the natural world.
Today, I shoot with a Nikon Z 8 and Nikon Z 7, paired with lenses ranging from 14mm wide-angle to a powerful 180-600mm telephoto—ready to capture everything from sweeping vistas to distant wildlife.

I grew up in the Swiss town of Winterthur, where my late father—a passionate amateur photographer with a love for architecture and street scenes—always had a camera in hand. That early exposure to photography left a lasting impression on me. I spent countless hours shooting with his Nikon FM2 and FE2—both of which I still proudly own today.
In my early 40s, I began to take photography more seriously, especially during our many travels through the USA, Australia, and across Europe. In 2017, Andrea suggested we join an organized photography trip to the Lofoten Islands—and from that point on, photography became the core of most of our vacations and many weekends.
Today, I shoot with a Nikon Z 9 and Z 8, along with a range of Nikon lenses to cover everything from wide landscapes to wildlife.
